Natural and man-made disasters are pressing issues that require prompt and effective responses by those emergency services, communities and economies that attend to them. A rapid reaction to such crises is one of the key measures of success and with the threat posed by climate change and El Nino on the rise, it seems that the capacity to deal with such disasters and the speed of response will become all the more pressing in the years ahead.
